“Adventskalender” December 15th

This is a “comedor” (basic restaurant) in Rio Grande, a village that was so windy and dusty that we called it Rio Dusty. After visiting the lithium plant which is located at the shore of the salt lake “Salar de Uyuni” and only a few kilometers away, I went on to Rio Grande to find basic accomodation for the night. There was no such thing. So me and my colleague David ended up sleeping on the floor of this comedor, right under the mirror. And the weird thing: this night in the comedor, in sleeping bags on air mattresses, was warmer then many of the nights in run-down bolivian pensions. The coffee next morning was disappointing as always.
